I am a multimedia reporter and educator with 15 years experience in the news-making industry, working inside 40 countries and territories. I graduated from the University of Florida and New York University with a B.S. in journalism and Latin American studies and an M.S. in tech management.

My work can be viewed in WSJ, AFP, NPR, The Daily Mail, The Miami Herald, and Bloomberg among others. In recent years, I've covered stories ranging from migrant caravans in Mexico for The Daily Mail to LGBTQ+ topics for VICE.

During summers I've led/taught expeditions for The New York Times and National Geographic across South America and Europe.

In the more distant past, I was a news editor at the Corbis Corporation and reporter at the African Refugee Development Center in the Middle East. At Corbis I oversaw various activities at high-tech startup Demotix News. Demotix won a Webby award (News, 2011) during my time as news editor for the site.
