I covered the massive tornadoes that tore through Mayfield, Kentucky and the surrounding region, documenting entire blocks reduced to debris and families navigating the earliest days of recovery. I returned to Mayfield at Christmas to see how the community was coping, but little had improved — the damage remained overwhelming and progress slow. I hope to return again to see how residents are rebuilding and how the town is healing over time.
